Lee W. Thompson, MD

About Lee

Lee Thompson, M.D., FACS, graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Microbiology.  He received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He is board-certified in surgery, completing his residency in general surgery at the University of Virginia, where he also completed additional surgical oncology training with an emphasis on hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He was active in melanoma vaccine research and has multiple publications on the subject.  

Dr. Thompson held a faculty position in the Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia prior to moving to Mobile in 2002.
