Your Dietitian

When you have cancer, good nutrition plays an important role in your recovery. Good nutrition will help you maintain your strength and weight so that you are better able to handle your treatments. It will also boost your immune system which is a critical component of your body’s healing and repair process.

As your dietitian, I will individualize my recommendations based on your cancer diagnosis and your specific treatment plan. I will strive to ease the side effects of your treatment while improving your quality of life. Together, we will come up with a plan that you feel you can achieve that meets your needs based on your specific cancer diagnosis.

As your registered cancer dietitian, I can help you with:

  • maintaining proper nutrition during treatment;
  • individualized meal planning;
  • suggesting foods to ease nausea;
  • communication with your physician’s office;
  • solutions to boost appetite;
  • achieving your nutritional goals.

Your Genetic Counselor

Infirmary Cancer Care offers a comprehensive Cancer Genetics Program to educate and evaluate your personal and family history of cancer. Our genetic counselor on staff makes personalized recommendations for your tests based on National Guidelines. After your initial assessment, testing will be performed by our team. We coordinate the specimen collection and will contact you with your test results.

My role is to guide you through the genetic process of cancer care. Together, we can explore options for your genetic testing.

As your cancer genetic counselor, I can help you with:

  • understanding genetics and inherited cancers;
  • determining if genetic testing is right for you and your family;
  • assessing your potential cancer risks based on personal and family history;
  • following the genetic testing process;
  • interpreting your genetic testing results;
  • managing the steps to take post-testing;
  • providing resources and support.
